Simple Moving is a fully licensed and insured moving company authorized to perform residential and commercial relocation services throughout California.

Our CAL-T license is issued through the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services , which regulates licensed household goods movers in California.

Insurance Coverage

We maintain all insurance coverage required by the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services, including:

General liability insurance
Commercial auto insurance for all trucks
Workers’ compensation insurance
Cargo insurance

This helps protect our customers, employees, and equipment throughout the moving process.

Basic Valuation Coverage

Simple Moving’s liability for lost or damaged items is limited to $0.60 per pound per article, which is the standard released value protection provided by California movers.

Additional third-party moving insurance may be purchased through Moving Insurance. If additional insurance is purchased, Simple Moving must be notified no less than 72 hours before the day of the move.

Certificate of Insurance (COI)

Upon request, we can provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for apartment buildings, offices, storage facilities, and property management companies.

If your building needs to be listed on our COI, we would need the following information:

The name your building would like to be listed under as Additional Insured and Certificate Holder
The address your building would like to be listed under, which may be different from the physical move location
Any insurance requirements your building may have

If your building has already provided a form with all required information, simply send it to us and we can use it for processing.

There is a $50 fee to add a building or management company to our COI through our third-party insurance provider. We can process it before your move and simply add the fee to your final bill at the end of the job.

Important Coverage Exclusions

Damage to items packed by the customer

Damage to contents inside customer-packed boxes

Loss or damage to improperly packed items not packed by our crew

Damage to pre-wrapped or sealed items that cannot be inspected prior to the move

Damage to items unloaded from trucks, containers, pods, or storage units that were not originally packed or moved by our crew

Damage to items moved out of storage units when the items were previously packed, wrapped, or stored by others rather than by Simple Moving
