What is CA state law Double Driving Time?
For all hourly moves in the State of California, moving companies are required to charge double drive time. The existing CPUC law is written as follows: 'the time used shall be the total of loading, unloading and double the driving time from the point of origin to the destination.
Do you have Extra Heavy Item Charge?
For all items over 300lbs such as piano, large safe, pool table, or anything that could be considered excessively heavy additional charges may apply. Ask your representative for the specific charge for your item.
We may not able to move items over 800lbs, please call our office to get more details.
Do you offer hauling/disposal services of unwanted furniture?
Yes. We can haul away items for $50 per piece. We can also place items curbside or deliver to a donation center. Charged time applies for curbside and delivery options.
When do I need to get a parking permit, and how do I get it?
Parking permits are a lot more expensive than parking violation tickets. We recommend getting a parking permit only if we risk other traffic in case we have to double park or block the entire road/bus lane. Otherwise, it's better to take the risk and Double Park. In case we get a citation ticket, we add it to the final bill. Parking permits are available through www.movingpermits.com.
How are local moves priced?
Local moves are billed hourly based on the crew size you select (2, 3, 4, or 5 movers plus a truck). All jobs have a 3-hour minimum, then 15-minute increments.
What does “all-inclusive hourly rate” mean?
It means your hourly rate already includes the truck, standard supplies, labor, fuel, mileage, basic wrapping, and common services like disassembly and reassembly, with no hidden “admin” or “stair” or any other fees.
Are taxes included?
Yes, taxes are already included in the hourly rate.
Are there any extra fees for stairs, elevators, or long walks?
No additional fees. Those factors may increase total time, but the hourly rate stays the same.
Do you charge for fuel or mileage on local moves?
No. Gas and mileage are included in the hourly rate.
Do you charge extra for extra stops?
No extra stop fees. Time applies, and Double Drive Time rules may apply if the distance between the stops is over 10 miles.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash or any credit/debit card. We also accept Zelle at the card rate. We don’t accept personal checks.
When do I pay?
For local hourly moves, payment is made once we complete your move.
For long distance moves, payment is split into two parts: half of the flat rate is due once the truck is fully loaded at the pick-up location, and the remaining half is due after the unloading is completed at the destination.
Is there a price difference between cash and credit card?
Yes. Card rates are slightly higher than cash rates. Your quote will show both.
Do you price match?
We focus on fair, transparent pricing and professional service. If you have a comparable written quote, share it and we will review.
Can you give me an exact total cost ahead of time?
For hourly moves, we cannot guarantee an exact total because the time required depends on many factors such as access conditions, stairs, elevator availability, walking distance to the truck, packing needs, traffic, and how prepared the move is on the day of service. For this reason, we cannot provide a blind estimate.
For larger moves, we may recommend scheduling a Virtual Visual Estimate. This allows us to review your inventory and access conditions to determine the appropriate crew size and provide a more accurate expectation of the time required for your move.
Do you offer flat rates for local moves?
Local moves are typically billed hourly. However, for larger or more complex moves we may offer a “Do Not Exceed” estimate after completing a Virtual Visual Estimate. This allows us to review your inventory and access conditions in advance and provide a maximum price that your move will not exceed, assuming the scope of the move remains the same.
How are long distance moves priced?
Half of the payment is due upon completion of loading and another half after unloading is completed.
Can you do overnight holds?
Yes. Overnight hold in the truck is available for $250/night per truck.
Are extra heavy item fees included in the flat rate?
Extra heavy items are typically not included in the Flat Rate and may incur additional charges.
What if I add items after booking?
If additional items are added after booking, the scope of the move may change. For moves scheduled with a Flat Rate or Do Not Exceed estimate, the price may need to be adjusted to reflect the updated inventory.
For standard hourly moves, the job will simply continue at the hourly rate and the total time may increase. In some cases, we may recommend adding an additional mover to complete the job more efficiently.
Please notify us as early as possible if your inventory changes so we can update the plan for your move.
